We visited Adam's family over the weekend (that's our dog Maddie looking over the lake) and when we got home on Sunday, Adam and I spent a couple of hours clearing out our garage. We also took the opportunity to unload a good portion of the trash pile next to our house (sadly, there's no other way to describe it) into the Bagster we bought ages ago for that very purpose. Apparently we've accumulated more construction debris than I thought, because it quickly became clear that one Bagster wasn't going to be enough.
The impetus behind all that trash-hauling was the arrival of our new floors, which were delivered on Monday! I put a few pieces in place to see how they'll look against the stairs...
and yay! We've got our babysitters lined up and a place to crash (thanks Mom!), so our Canada Day weekend will be spent removing our current floors, leveling out the subfloor, and installing our new cork floors. Oh, and there's just the small matter of emptying our entire main floor of furniture.
And on an unrelated note, I couldn't help but get distracted by our front garden while cleaning out the garage. I took a few minutes to trim back some plants and what a difference! You can see the path again! And yes, those are a whole bunch of peonies in the background about to bloom. I love summer :)
